The need to top up your thirst

Enthusiasm and thirst for life should never be underestimated. I should know. I spent more years focusing in the wrong places at work, only to move on, look around and think, what was I doing? Why did I not leave sooner and take that brave step into the unknown?

Was it because I was scared? Was it because I didn’t think I was good enough or was it simply because I feared change?

Was I too worried about what could happen that I could not leave myself to believe, even for one second that I could make a success of things…

Scared

Fear drives many of us in this world.

• It drives women to marry unsuitable men as they worry that they will run out of time and end up childless and alone
• It drives men to control everything around them as they fear what could happen if they let go.

Fear drives nations to unleash horrible deaths onto their enemies and drives countries to invade others in the name of peacekeeping missions. Fear is a powerful motivator that can be blamed for many of the world’s tragedies and prevents many of us from moving forward in life.
