Resilience
The need to develop a thick skin
If the world has taught me anything then it is that you need a hell of a lot of resilience to get through everything that is thrown at you.
From the heartbreak to the utter bewilderment of some people in the consideration that they are simply happy to gun down an innocent crowd. The world can be an utterly complex and angry place, with the only question left for us to ask ourselves is, how do you get through the day?
Without wishing to quote Doctor Who too much…we’ve got to keep moving, as really we are all like the Doctor, changing our faces and identities as we get older. Political leanings, friendship groups and the views that we keep.
We can start our lives seeing the best or instantly be taken down the route of evil through an abusive relative. There really is no set pattern and so human beings are largely a product of their younger surroundings, with abused children going on to abuse others.
My wife is a teacher and she sees it. Not just in her classroom but in other classes, the effects of those who are being raised in an unhappy household and this I say not about those whose families do not have enough money. What I mean is those whose parents are physically or emotionally abusive and you ask yourself why?
