Our biggest ally has no conscience

Anyone reading this who has not recently had a conversation about AI should be applauded.

AI is here, and it is a great human invention. The perfect assistant, one whose limits are potentially endless, yet one who needs specific boundaries like any child.

Replacing Humans

We all fear change to differing levels. I am unafraid to admit this, as I am human. I look for adventure and experience like the next person, but I still worry about how it will be implemented.

Fear is good when it is harnessed correctly. It is motivating, especially when we consider the workplace and engaging in an activity that scares us, like a presentation. Fear here helps us to do our best work and reminds us that we still care.

If we head into a presentation and have no fear, then do we truly care? Fear is good for awakening something inside us, and with anything new, a healthy level of fear is great.

When it comes to AI, however, the biggest fear is that it will take our jobs and replace us, and that is scary. This is especially true when we take age into account.
