Being hungover when you are younger (17 to 25) was a breeze.

I mean you would feel tired, yes, but you would not have to take precautions such as drinking water before bed and taking paracetamol with you wherever you went, but unfortunately, age catches up to all of us and it has certainly caught up to me.

Last night I was invited to a work event. An event that is related to my day-to-day role and opens the door to future connections, stories and connections that will make my life easier so it does make sense.

All of this is incredibly logical and believable but what is not believable these days is how quickly age can catch up with you in regards to drinking and being hungover.

I think in total I went through around seven pints. Not enough to truly get me drunk to the point where I wandered off or attempted to be rude to people, no this was enough to be merry and make an effort to fit in which is essential for being there.

I wanted to drink but not get drunk and outstay my welcome. This was my plan and I believe that I have achieved this. I am now sitting on the train home feeling as though I have fully achieved something when in previous years the thought of speaking with others that I did not know would have…
