When Time is Short
What do we sacrifice?
When time is short what is the one thing that we all sacrifice? Ourselves. We place the care and well-being of the tasks in front of us ahead of that essential consideration, our health.
I do not. I place myself first and foremost, above all else in my life, even my wife, as without your health, you have nothing.
For me, my health is something that I have been very lucky with but that is not to say that I always will be lucky as none of us know what is around the corner and where most know their family history, I do not.
I never knew my Dad and have never felt much of a pull towards seeking him out as he’s added nothing to my life, whereas, my Grandparents added almost everything. They were always there for me and helped support my Mum to raise me into the man I am today and that’s something that I will always be grateful for but they were not perfect.
My Grandad for one never bothered with his health and in fairness to him, given the consideration that he lasted until he was 98, he may have been making better decisions than many of us. The problem was that it did not appear that way from the outside.
He had a heart attack when I was young and then, in fairness to him, continued forward for another 20+ years, living to the ripe age of 98. It was an…
